New Volvos for sale

Not everyone will understand the looks of the Volvo C30 small family car, but it’s a high-quality way to transport four people, and the D5 diesel is feisty and frugal. Volvo’s iconic estate car, the V70 (£25k), is not quite up to the class leaders in driving terms but its cargo area is nicely shaped. The smaller V50 estate (£16k) compensates for reduced load-carrying ability with a healthy dose of class. The S40/60/80 saloons (£14k/£20k/£23k) have their own followings thanks to great cabin comfort. The Swedes are even having a go at recognising the British love affair with the convertible by producing the C70 coupé cabriolet. It’s more of a boulevardier than a backroads bruiser, but if you prefer gentler thrills the C70 should float your boat at around £26k for the 2.4i Sport, with Volvo’s excellent RTI satnav and plenty more in the way of useful (often safety-related) technology.
